Project Rocky
Have you Spotted Something Strange?
Have you noticed unusual prints appearing on the beaches of the Isle of Wight?
- Impressions in the sand.
- Strange shapes along the shoreline.
- Marks that look almost…prehistoric.
It’s enough to make you wonder — could a prehistoric creature be lurking among us?
The Mystery
Now, we’re not saying that there’s a living dinosaur walking across the beaches of the Isle of Wight… that would be crazy.
However… we’re not saying there isn’t, either.
Project Rocky began after a few unusual photos were shared in local Facebook groups.
Since then, more images have been appearing from different parts of the Island.
Some may be nothing. Some might just be rocks.
Or erosion, tide patterns, imagination.
But what of the ones that aren’t?
We’re collecting everything we can to try and solve this curious mystery.
Have You seen Something Suspicious?
If you’ve spotted unusual prints, odd rock shapes, or something that just didn’t look right—send it in.
Tell us where you were.
What time it was.
And what you think it could be.
Let’s see if we can piece this together.
Could it Really be Prehistoric?
Here’s the thing.
Over 120 million years ago, during the Early Cretaceous period, this island was home to dinosaurs roaming river floodplains and subtropical forests.
Today, fossils and even genuine dinosaur footprints can still be found along parts of the coast.
